Looking for A Devon or Two - Qld, Australia

Hi my name's Cassidy and i've recently joined Devon Zone.  Sadly i have recently lost my one year old boy Devon Spook (pictured) :( He was a gorgeous loving cheeky boy who was a big part of our family.  He escaped one morning and was hit by a car in our very quiet street so it was a big shock.  Before that i had another cheeky one year old boy Devon who had be euthanised as he had cancer throughout his body.  Both very sad times for us and my 7 year old daughter.

I joined Devon Zone as i'm hoping i could find another beautiful Devon companion or two.  I don't mind if they are a young cat or kitten, i'm willing to pay some money for them if required but my partner doesn't feel comfortable buying a kitten that was bred for money due to the amount of cats out there requiring a home.  If i was to be fortunate enough to have another Devon or Two become apart of our family they would be inside cats, only venturing outside on a harness or if i was able to net the pergola area.  I live on the Northside of Brisbane and can comfortably afford veterinary care like desexing and vaccinations etc.

While we do have a 7 year old daughter our house hold is fairly quiet with not many visitors, my partner also works part time so is home a lot of the time.

Hopefully we can be blessed to be apart of another Devon's life. xx

  • Hi Cassidy,

Sorry to hear about Spook, that is very sad. And also losing your previous Devon to cancer.

We do have a few Devon's that come up for rehoming in Qld, so keep an eye out.

Hopefully you will find your new family member soon.

  • Thanks Nicole for your kind words. It was quite devastating losing our boys. Of course you believe that they'll be with you for a lifetime and having their young lives cut short was and still is heart breaking

  • Hi Cassidy, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Spook looked like such a sweet boy. That must have been just terrible for you. Devons are such wonderful little creatures, they really have a way of worming their way into your heart. All the best with your search for an adoption.
  • Thanks Em. They really are one of a kind.

  • Hi Nicole,

I just wanted to give you an update and let you know that a kind breeder in Perth has given me a 12 month old purebred girl Devon.  She's blind in one eye so i guess she couldn't sell her and was needing to downsize in the number of cats she had so she offered her to me.  So very grateful, i picked her up from the airport last night.  She's super tiny, i'm not sure how tiny female devon's are because i've only had males but she is very small with a super huge personality, once she settle's in more i'll upload some photo's of her.

    Thanks Cassidy Smile.gif

  • Oh fantastic!! That's brilliant news. Oh I'm so happy for you, congratulations!! The little thing :-) Nb. Our female Devon is about 75% of the size of our male & I've read that the Devon Rex girls often come a lot smaller. Looking forward to the pics - please post some when you get a chance :-)
  • Oh that's great news Cassidy!
Our smallest Devon (2 year old female) is 2.2 kilos and our biggest (13 year old male) is over 6 kilos. They can vary so much in size!
I hope she settles in well and we look forward to seeing her. :)
