Very thin fur!

I have a 9 month old female Devon. When we bought her the breeder said she expected her to lose some fur and regain it by the time she was 12 months old. She suggested we feed her chicken wings occasionally to help her coat stay healthy but she is not keen on them and we've noticed that her fur is still very short and she has some hairless patches on the top of her head and her tummy. I was just wondering if this is normal and whether we can expect her coat to thicken? Also, is there anything we can do to help her hair stay healthy? Thanks

  • I just had a look at her photo & her coat is very similar to my girl who is 7 months old.  I will post a recent photo of her for you to see. I have 3 Devons ATM & their coats are all different

  • Hi Milli,

As Joy said the coats can vary so much. I have 2 girls that are half sisters and one is like a sheep and the other is like a Sphynx! She did get some coat in Winter but she is back to bald again now. Theres nothing you can do to encourage hair growth... but using cat clothes will not encourage her hair to grow, so I would steer clear of cat clothes.
