Weird and funny places your Devons sleep in

I am wondering how many devon lovers out there panic over losing their babies inside the house only to find they have curled up in the most weird & funny places  One of my boys gets a fad & he will curl up in one place for a few weeks then find another spot. I just get used to where to look for him & then he changes.

  • I know the feeling so well.  Just when you think you have their spots sussed out, they change them.  Also they tend to take over each others favoutite places.  You think you'll find a certain cat in a certain place, but no it's another one.

  • We have one girl that has a hiding place and I don't know where it is! She can hide there for hours on end and at times I have looked everywhere for her and I still can't find her. I know it's upstairs but I have no idea where!
A few weeks ago we had a cool day. I have a one cat igloo on top of my computer cupboard and it is always popular. This particular day I could hear hissing going on. The next thing one Devon jumps out, then another, then our Burmese! They must have been packed in like sardines and no one was budging. Funny cats.
  • Smile.gifYes I panicked couldn't find Mini my Devon thought she must have snuck out the door when after running around went into the bedroom looked again in the cupboard and she had curled up in my cosy dressing gown like a cocoon. What a relief.

  • My 1 year old Devon scared me by finding an obscure place to sleep - I couldn't find her anywhere and I was freaking out a little bit! She had decided that the top shelf of the linen press, behind folded blankets, was her new sleeping place - which made her completely invisible to this human! It's been about 6 months now, and it's still her favourite spot (apart from my shoulder!).

  • One of our Devons, Humphrey, likes to sleep in the dryer. We always have to check both the dryer and the washing machine twice before doing the washing.

  • OMG this sounds so much like me panicking this week.  We have school holidays and I thought the extra human activity in the house was making my little girl scared of boisterous 8 and 10 year olds.  She disappeared!  I felt sick.  We spent 90 minutes searching calling and couldn't find her anywhere at all.  I walked into the bathroom and didn't want to open the toilet!!! just in case she was in there.  No one in there thank goodness and dropped the lid and scolded the children.  "Put the lid down!!"  Anyway husband was called and came home to help distraught family looking for missing cat.  Guess what? he went straight to the timber TV cabinet pulled out the base speaker and who did he find?  Unbelieveable!  Husband renamed "super catfinding dad" and life returned to normal.  Phew..........

  • Devon babies will take time out.  Inside couches etc etc.  But that's alright I found two lost kittens of mine having a nice little rest inside my cutlery drawer! Frown.gif

  • Cardboard box (when available), reusable shopping bags, cloths basket, behind the centre speaker in the TV entertainment unit (warm spot) ..... I'm careful to close drawers in the chest of drawers as I know I'll lose one behind the drawer if I don't 18.gif

  • We have a heat light in our bathroom, and we are constantly finding Monty sprawled on the bath mat on his back enjoying the heat on cold days!
  • The linen cupboard on the folded towels is a favourite. On cold days they both like to crawl in under the quilt on my bed, and will sleep there for hours. Any cardboard box is fair game, also under the table on the chairs. Funnily enough, they love to be with me in the evenings. Right now, as I type on my iPad, Ysabell is on my right side and Mort is on the back of the sofa near my head. This is their usual pre-sleep, sleep spot.
