Worming - How often????

I intentionally didn't worm a litter of kittens as I am not sure that our kittens don't get bombarded with too many drugs/chemicals etc. When I had them vaccinated the vet did a parasite count/check on each kitten and found no parasites, when I asked the vet if I should worm them, he advised that he wouldn't but said that he is sure the the Purests would disagree. What does everyone think?I usually worm with Milbemax at 8 and 10 weeks.

  • we used to use panacur then vets sad maybe millbimax ( thats with the mogs) - are devons different or do you do the same, ask this since our devs have the same worm treatments at this time but as if and when we do have devon babies we want to get things right for their breeds as well?
  • Here in the Netherlands the advice is to worm the kittens at the age of 4, 6, 8 and 12 weeks. Because the devons are so small, I start at 7 weeks and worm at least 3 times. I don't like to give them this stuf but as long as they advice to do it this way, I will continue this. I normaly use Vitaminthe paste and one time panacur.
  • I do fecal samples and deworm if need be. So far not one positive test.
