Thinking about rehoming my 2yr old male Devon (VIC, AUS)

It's with a heavy heart that I am thinking of rehoming my darling boy, Omar, born 22/11/2010. I am unable to provide him with the attention he needs and deserves. He's an active and inquisitive boy and gives the best cuddles at night. He's not the hugest fan of small children, but may be fine with primary school aged children and above. I'd like to rehome him where people are home more than I have been and have a larger space for him to run around in (I live in a unit). He is an indoor cat and I'd like him to remain so. I'm not sure how he'd go with other cats, so he's probably best on his own. He has a weepy eye.

He is desexed and microchipped.

While I am still on the fence about this, I thought I'd post and see if anyone may be interested in providing him a new, loving forever home. I live in Melbourne and won't consider sending him interstate.

  • Ok sounds great! Talk soon.
    Cheers!
  • Hi Caroline - great! I should know in the next week or two whether this thing OS will unfold or not. I will contact you soon regardless, so we can have a chat about him. Might not be til the weekend though. Cheers!

  • Wow, that sounds great Caroline. Hopefully Jess will be in touch soon.

I know of at least 3 Devon's that have needed long term care in the last few months. I might start a new topic or Group for this. I think it could be worthwhile.

    By the way, welcome!  Smile.gif

Hi Jess, I have been desperately looking to adopt/ rescue a DR for so long now. I am home every afternoon and would be very interested in taking care of him whilst you go to work overseas. It would be a fantastic experience for me to have a practice run.
I live just near Prahran, Melbs. Would love to know if you would consider?

    Hope to hear from you,

    Kind regards, Caro.

  • Thanks, all. I've decided not to rehome him. He's my darling heart and I'd be lost without him. He has a pretty good life here :) However, there may be a small chance that I might need him cared for for a 6 month period - might have to head OS for work for 6 months. If anyone is interested, let me know! As I said, no guarantee, but his care is the biggest worry for me as I think about this job prospect.

  • He's gorgeous, it breaks my heart to not be able to take him.  May he find the perfect forever home.Smile.gif
